AJ Fitzgerald - Creative Writing Faculty

Originally from Harrison, NY, AJ Fitzgerald first came to Italy in 2016 as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. In 2017, Fitzgerald worked for the Civitella Ranieri Foundation, an international artist residency in Umbertide, Umbria.

 Fitzgerald currently works at Temple University’s campus in Rome, where he teaches Analytical Reading and Writing, and tutors students in the Writing Center. Fitzgerald previously taught Introduction to Writing Fiction at the University of California – Davis.

 Holding degrees in both Physics and English, Fitzgerald’s creative/research interests lie at the intersection of STEM and the humanities: the relationships between science, science policy, literature and other creative media, as well as the socio-cultural impacts of advancements in science and technology. He is currently at work on a debut novel and a collection of short stories.
