Methods of giving

Spoleto Study Abroad gratefully accepts gifts in several forms, from donating airline miles to presenting to your school about our program opportunities. Below are some ways you can contribute. All donations are tax-deductible and go toward increasing the sustainability of the Spoleto Study Abroad programming. Your gift will support our collaborative community of artists and scholars gathered to explore deeply the rich cultural heritage of central Italy while fostering individual artistic, intellectual, and personal growth.

Cash
The most common method of making a charitable gift is to contribute cash via check, credit card or bank transfer. Donations to non-profit charities, such as Spoleto Study Abroad, are tax-deductible so you could save you money when you file your taxes if your gift is made before December 31.

Airline Miles
If you’re building up your airline miles and need a good place to put them to use, a student would greatly appreciate a miles donation so their flights to Italy can be covered.

Matching Gifts
Some companies will match an employee or retiree gift, so be sure to check with your employer to stretch your donation further! The donor should determine eligibility and supply the appropriate company form. Additionally, if your company would like to partner with Spoleto Study Abroad during a fundraising event to match donations we raise, that is a great way to partner with us.

Securities
Making a gift of appreciated stock is one of the most advantageous forms of giving. If you donate stock that you purchased for $2,000 or more 12 months ago, and it is now worth $10,000, you get a deduction for the full $10,000. In addition, you have avoided the capital gains tax on the appreciation of the stock.

Life Insurance or Bequest
You may donate to the organization by making Spoleto Study Abroad the owner and beneficiary of your insurance policy or by including Spoleto Study Abroad in your will.

Spread the Word
Our small organization relies on recommendations and word of mouth referrals to keep our programming going. Give us a shout on social media, write us a review online, tell your friends and family about program opportunities with us, or give a presentation to your classmates at school to talk about your experience.
